‘Exeter Heart’ partners with Nuffield Health Exeter to provide fast access to a full range of cardiac services in a newly opened facility
Nuffield Health Exeter has recently expanded its provision of cardiac care in the South West by opening a new £3 million cardiac catheterisation facility. Through their partnership with Exeter Heart they provide a comprehensive range of services and treatments for any patients who have heart problems or concerns.
What is Exeter Heart?
A partnership between cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, created to provide professional high quality cardiac care.
What does Exeter Heart offer?
Rapid, convenient and affordable assessment by a consultant cardiologist. This allows a condition to be diagnosed and treated earlier, relieving symptoms, improving quality-of-life and reducing the chance of a heart attack, stroke or death. If all is well, professional assessment provides peace of mind, allowing patients to get on with their lives.
What other cardiac services are provided?
- All cardiac investigations: ECG, rhythm and blood pressure monitoring, exercise testing, echocardiography
- Advanced non-invasive 3D cardiac imaging – using an on-site state-of-the-art cardiac MRI or CT scanner
- The new cardiac facility provides electrophysiological studies and coronary angiography
What treatments are offered?
- Lifestyle and tablet treatment
- Pacemakers, defibrillators
- Electrophysiology ablation (including atrial fibrillation)
- Coronary artery stents
- Cardiac surgery; bypass grafts, traditional or transcatheter (TAVI) valve replacement
What is different about this multi-disciplinary approach?
All cardiologists assess and treat a range of heart problems but, uniquely, Exeter Heart consultants do not work in isolation. As a team, they can draw on sub-specialty expertise within the group to ensure each patient receives the best possible management, and a broader expert consensus on an individual basis.
What should patients do?
Simply call the Exeter Heart team at Nuffield Health Exeter (01392 262175), and they will be taken through a personalised journey to get them better.
How long do patients have to wait?
Accessing services is simple and there is virtually no waiting time. (eg coronary angiography less than a week).
What will it cost?
The Nuffield Health Exeter has a transparent and affordable pricing policy where non-insured patients only pay one fixed fee per consultation, investigation or treatment, with no hidden costs or ongoing commitment. At any stage patients are free to choose whether to proceed privately or not. u
