Farms for City Children are the first winners of the RGB Building Supplies Well Built Community Fund.

The charity will receive £1,000 worth of shower equipment from the Okehampton branch to use at their Nethercott site near Iddesleigh.

The builder’s merchant has chosen to donate materials to the Farms for City Children charity that gives children the chance spend a week living and working as a farmer on a rural farm.

The donation will be used to update the shower and bathroom facilities at Nethercott Farm which are currently unsuitable for children and in need of modernisation.

Kerry Weatherburn from Farms for City Children is thankful that they have been chosen. She said: “As a charity, it can sometimes be difficult to pay for everything that we need to, so the support of companies like RGB is very much appreciated.”

RGB operations manager, Rob Allen is delighted to be helping. He said: “It is important to give children the chance to have completely unique experiences as it can have an extremely positive impact on their lives.”

Every other month RGB will continue to donate £1,000 worth of building materials to support groups in the region and are currently encouraging sports clubs to get into contact.

Nominations can be made by emailing RGB@pmwcom.co.uk or by sending a letter to RGB Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. The closing date for nominations is Monday 4 August.
