Bunyip Beads and Buttons celebrates 10 years in the heart of Exeter

When a young Mattie Richardson opened her first shop in Exeter ten years ago, she was unable to comprehend the success she would later receive.

Ten years on, Richardson admits that though she was young and gauche when she first began her business she was fortunate to hit on the right idea, in the right place, at the right time. Today Bunyip Beads and Buttons is commonly recognised as the hub of the citys active craft community, whilst Mattie and her loyal staff are still at the helm.

To celebrate their continued success, Mattie had announced a series of festive promotions to acknowledge their achievements. Starting from Wednesday 14th November, they will have 10 days of 10% off, culminating in 10% off everything in the shop on Saturday 24th November.

In addition, Bunyip are developing a new website that will make it much easier for customers to book their hugely popular craft courses online As well as making it easier to access all of their new promotions and products. Bunyip is also launching a loyalty card so that customers receive 10 to spend in store after 10 10 purchases. There will be also new products, kits andjewellery online and in store.

On Saturday 24th November, there will be a party day in the shop withdrinks and nibbles, a special Make n Take session with teachers on hand going on all day, and some super special bargains, including the Bunyip Guide to Jewellery Making free with all purchases over 10.

But this is more than a story about a shop and a website, its a story of a young entrepreneur making good. Mattie says: I think that the real tale of our success has been our determination to treat our customers and staff with respect and understanding. I like to be made to feel special when I go somewhere and I want people who come to Bunyip to feel special. All of us go that extra mile and whilst we always try to provide great products at fair prices, its that personal touch that makes us what we are.
