Each month book enthusiast Annette Shaw will review new titles for Devon Life readers.

As a freelance writer and a book group organiser for over 15 years, Annette Shaw has interviewed many writers including Maeve Binchy, Tracy Chevalier and TV presenter Fiona Phillips. Annette is passionate about the joy of reading and is also very aware of the health and social benefits.

She tells Devon Life: “What goes on between the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall is really quite remarkable. It’s a hotbed of creativity. So, welcome to words in every glorious genre, starring Devon.

“To mark this literary launch we’re starting with three very different books: a secret bestseller, a national news story and a publishing triumph. As more works of fiction and non-fiction pour into the office, a book of the month will feature in the magazine.”

February 2015’s reviews are: The Murdstone Trilogy by Mal Peet, A Scientist in Wonderland by Edzard Ernst, Your Simple Path by Ian Tucker
