South West Communications Group raised more than 14,000 for The Princes Trust with a black tie ball recently held at Sandy Park.

This latest event has boosted the total the Exeter-based voice and data communications company has raised for the charity to date to 45,000.

South West Communications Group took up The Princes Trusts Million Makers challenge in 2007 and went on to win the regional fund-raisers title with a total of 31,000. They became a patron of the charity in 2008.

This ball was organised by sales director Sarah Flowers after the Trust registered a need for extra funds. The event was attended by 280 business colleagues and friends, as well as by BBC Radio Bristols presenter Peter Rowell and GMTVs Toonattiks Anna Williamson, who are both supporters of The Princes Trust.

Sarah Flowers said: My thanks goes to all the local businesses who generously donated auction and raffle prizes and to everyone who attended. It was a great evening and the result is a further financial boost for one of our charitable causes.

The Princes Trust gives practical and financial support to develop key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation, in 14 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the authorities.
