Is it too early to break out the party hats, crackers and the Christmas music? Not at Devon’s Highbullen Hotel, where they have been showcasing their festive party food to select guests.

The luxury hotel near South Molton in North Devon is looking forward to a busy party season of private dining, office parties and festive breaks.

It’s seen a two-year improvement programme which has cost £5million and which culminates next week with the first event to be held in the new Palazzo building which can accommodate up to 400 guests.

It’s quite unlike anything you’ll have seen in Devon – a Tuscan-inspired building featuring mosaics, frescos, classical columns and domes and even two life-sized Roman-style statues modelled on the architect and one of the builders.

The Palazzo – already booked for 50 weddings next year - means the hotel can offer a range of festive celebrations from a big office do for hundreds to a romantic winter break in the original Victorian arts and crafts part of the building.

Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s facilities which include an indoor pool, gym and golf course.

Highbullen is hosting a series of Christmas Party Nights with prices starting from £19 per person, including a welcome drink, a three course meal, crackers, table decorations and a disco.

And for an extra £39 B&B guests can stay in one of the hotel’s 36 stunning rooms, and enjoy a full English breakfast in the Devon View Restaurant.

It also has a three-night Christmas Retreat which will include the hotel’s first ever Christmas Eve Black Tie Gala in The Palazzo and a seven course lunch in The Devon View restaurant – and of course a Christmas stocking from Santa.
