Established in 1998, Kenana Knits work to support women in rural Kenya find needed income through making handmade gifts, bed covers and a wide range of knit-wear and accessories. Knitting is ideal as it requires the minimal equipment, can be done when time permits. In times of rain, the family crops and vegetables take priority, so not much knitting gets done, but throughout the times of drought and crop failure knitting provides much needed money to purchase the necessities of life. Both Odette and Kenana Knits will have an abundance of fair-trade goods.
The gallery will be packed with festive treats, join us at the launch of this exhibition on Friday 3 December, 7pm onwards for mulled wine and festive cheer.
