Exeter’s Magdalen Chapter shortlisted for City Hotel of the Year

After being crowned the winning City Hotel of the Year by Food & Travel Magazine last year, The Magdalen Chapter is working hard to defend its title after being nominated for the second year running.
The Exeter hotel is one of five finalists in this prestigious category and one of only two properties outside of London to be nominated.
Other finalists are The Berkeley in London, Charlotte Street Hotel in London, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and The Midland in Manchester.
The public are now being invited to vote for their favourite hotels, in this category and others, with the winners receiving their title at an awards ceremony in September.
Formerly the West of England Eye Hospital, the 19th Century building has been restored and revived, now accommodating a restaurant led by Head Chef Ben Bulger and a luxury REN spa; a popular destination for both locals and visitors alike.
Whilst the hotel holds a more contemporary feel, Edwardian features have been maintained, filling the building with character and history amongst beautiful new extensions.
