The new Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir David Richards is the latest high profile guest to address a business lunch organised by Michelmores Solicitors.

Sir David, as the most senior military figure in the UK, is the man with ultimate responsibility for the war in Afghanistan and is charged with delivering the Governments Strategic Defence Review and the way this will impact on the future shape of the Armed Forces, a task he famously remarked is likely to lead to a horse and tank moment.

The lunch, held at Tallow Chandlers' Hall, London, was organised by Michelmores Business Development Manager, Jeff Nicholls and was attended by several leading figures in the business world.

Jeff Nicholls, Business Development Manager comments

" We were very privileged to have the Chief of the Defence Staff as guest of Honour address our London clients. His day consisted of a morning Ministerial meeting followed by an afternoon session with the Prime Minister and lunch with Michelmores in between - it was all in a day's work for the General. We all felt a real sense of privilege and gratitude to Sir David for sparing his valuable time."

Previous speakers at Michelmores City Lunches and business breakfasts have included the First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope, the Rt Hon Vince Cable MP, Lord Cecil Parkinson, Lord Digby Jones and the Rt Hon John Redwood MP.
