Plumbase has this week donated 1000 to one of GBs 2012 Paralympic hopefuls. Para-dressage rider Deborah Criddle, who lives in Taunton, finished fourth at the 2008 Paralympics, just missing out on bronze. This was a disappointment for her following her three gold medal haul at the Athens Paralympics in 2004.

Debs brother, Nigel Gulliford, who is a valued customer of Plumbase approached the company for a donation as Debs funding has been reduced significantly in recent years.

Nigel explained, Its only with the help of company sponsorship such as this that Deb is able to train and compete at the highest level. My company, Westford Mechanical is going to match the 1000 from Plumbase and so this will make a real difference to Deb.

Deb, who has had recent success with her new Lady Joseph Trust horse, Akilles, winning two gold and one silver medal in the 2011 European Championships, is overjoyed at the donation. I cant thank Plumbase and Westford Mechanical enough for their very kind donations. They will go a long way in helping me with my training costs and preparation for the selection trials and games this summer.

Deb visited the Taunton branch of Plumbase this week to receive her cheque from Robert Allen, Regional Director at Plumbase. Rob said, Were thrilled to be able to make a donation to help Deborah with her training, especially as her brother Nigel is a valued customer. Its great to be able to support a local person and in doing so help bring her one step closer to realising her dream of a podium finish at the London Paralympic Games 2012.
