On Saturday 11th June at The Barn Owl in Kingskerswell, The Ness ner Teignmouth, The Lighter in Topsham and the Old Inn in Moor, staff and regulars will be leaving the bar to 'call time' on litter in their local areas
From 9.00am - 11.00am public house teams at all 57 Hall & Woodhouse managed public houses will stop collecting glasses and start collecting rubbish in and around identified litter-hotspots to celebrate Hall & Woodhouses Founders Day.
Mark Woodhouse, Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, explains: We strongly believe in the pub as a hub of the community and so to celebrate the day Hall & Woodhouse was founded we will be donning our rubber gloves, high visibility vests and grabbing our bin bags to help keep our communal spaces clean and tidy.
On Founders Day, 8th June 1898, George, Alfred and Frank Woodhouse made Hall & Woodhouse a limited company. Every year Hall & Woodhouse celebrates this day and for 2011 its public houses will be marking the day by helping tidy up in the communities that Hall & Woodhouse have been a part of over the years.
Mark continues; We would love to hear from people about where they think needs a good tidy up - parks, hedgerows, car parks, playgrounds, anywhere that has been neglected. Pop down to your local Hall & Woodhouse public house and let us know where we should be sweeping! If youd like to get involved, come and join in on the day, full details are available on our website, www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk. Everyone is welcome and for helping Founders Sweepers you will receive a piece of Founders Day cake and a bottle of limited edition Founders Ale at the end of the clean sweep.
