The Grand, The Hoe, Plymouth

The City's Grandest Development!

Sitting proudly on Plymouth Hoe's promenade, The Grand has become one of the city's most talked about new developments.

Offering 22 apartments and four penthouses, the development is a conversion of the striking and iconic Grade II listed Victorian hotel. Its elevated waterfront position allows the front of the building to benefit from stunning views across the Sound and beyond, whilst the rear boasts breathtaking, panoramic views across the city.

Throughout its transformation the developer, Devington Homes, has worked hard to maintain The Grand's extensive heritage, restoring or replicating a high number of period features. From the Lyncrusta walls (created by the very company which undertook the original fitting) through to the front entrance canopy, extensive ceiling moulds, sash windows and shutters no expense has been spared to ensure the character of the building has not only been retained, but embraced.

The traditional styling is complemented by chic and stylish kitchens, bathrooms and en suites, all finished to the highest specification and offering the best in modern conveniences, such as integrated appliances and underfloor heating.

Two and three bedroom apartments are available at The Grand, with prices beginning at just 249,950 for a city view and 475,000 for a sea view.

Making the move even easier, Devington Homes is also offering part exchange on selected homes within the development.* The part exchange package provides homeowners with a guaranteed cash buyer, saving buyers from the stress which can sometimes play a part in the buying and selling process.*

Lawrence Butler, managing director of Devington Homes, commented:

It has been incredibly rewarding to see this beautiful building restored to its former glory. The response we have had from visitors has been fantastic.

We understand that buying and selling a property can sometimes seem stressful, particularly if there is a chain of buyers involved. This is why we have chosen to offer the part exchange package, allowing us to take away a considerable amount of stress from our buyers, and let them simply sit back, relax and enjoy the view!

Emma Solman of Jackson-Stops & Staff New Homes Department says, added: Where else can you find a home that offers not only a sea view that is continuingly changing, but also overlooks a vibrant city and a prominent landmark; that itself is truly unique and well worth getting excited about. The attention to detail is fantastic giving you a combination of impressive space that you get from a period property yet with the sleek features of a stylish new home what more could you want?

We have just released our exciting 2,500 sq.ft penthouse and advise those interested in viewing to contact Jackson-Stops & Staff Tel: 01392 214222 or Atwell Martin on 01752 202121 to make an appointment. With only a limited number of homes remaining you do not want to miss the boat!

The Grand Hotel was built in 1879 and played host to world famous guests such as The Beatles, Laurel and Hardy and Prime Minister William Gladstone. A fire took hold in 2003, severely damaging the hotel and leading to a 12m redevelopment programme.

Previously The Grand Hotel, The Grand includes 26 high specification apartments directly on Plymouth Hoe.

Prices start from 249,950 with a range of two and three bedroom apartments available.

The Grand was built in 1879 and played host to world famous guests such as The Beatles, Laurel and Hardy and Prime Minister William Gladstone. A fire took hold in 2003 causing significant damage to the building, made worse by the water required to douse out the flames.

Devington Homes, which developed Azure just next door to the hotel, subsequently purchased The Grand and put in place a 12m programme of redevelopment works.

Truro based Devington Homes is one of the South West's leading property developers, specialising in the restoration of historic buildings and the development of brownfield sites. As well as Azure, developments of note include Devington Park (Exminster), Devington Hall (Truro) and St Clements Vean, (Truro).

Emma Solman of Jackson-Stops & Staff New Homes Department says, The Walled Garden is a unique property full of smart details, and aside from the obvious striking design continues to surprise the more you take the time to examine it. This property has been designed to make coming home more enjoyable, minimal maintenance and flexible accommodation to fit in with daily life; with a few little added luxuries of course!
