Following the LABC south west award win for best large housing development, Phoenix Quay in Plymouth has just gone one stage further by scooping the national accolade at a glittering awards ceremony in London.

The whole team involved in building the development includes Linden Homes, Plymouth City Council, the Homes and Communities Agency, Tor Homes, and the many subcontractors.

Bill Cawse, managing director for Linden Homes, said: We were against some stiff competition as there were some excellent regional winners, so were absolutely delighted that Phoenix Quay has been voted the best large housing development in the UK.

Site Managers Bob Mitchell and Jamie Rogerson, along with their team, have worked tirelessly to create Phoenix Quay and its testament to their team building skills, hard work and dedication that they have managed to deliver this award winning development and to such a high standard.

I would like to thank the Homes and Communities Agency, which has invested 1,697,590 in Kickstart and HomeBuy Direct funding, Plymouth City Council and Tor Homes for all of their support. It takes more than bricks and mortar to create an award winning new homes development and Phoenix Quay is certainly a development we can all be very proud of.

Guy Cooper from Plymouth City Council said: This Local Authority Building Control quality award to Linden Homes recognises high standards of design, construction and workmanship. The award is testament to everyone who has worked on the scheme during the construction on site and in the background with design changes as works have progressed over the past few years.

The open door policy adopted by the fantastic site management team of Bob Mitchell and Jamie Rogerson has been second to none and has ensured the project ran smoothly, safely and has maintained high quality standards.

Cabinetmember for Planning, Strategic Housing and EconomicDevelopmentCouncillor TedFry laid the last block pavier at Phoenix Quay at the topping out ceremony in the summer to mark the developments completion and to celebrate its south west award win, he said: This shows team work at its best. Our building control worked very closely with the team onsite to ensure the development met all building regulations and safety standards and they were very impressed with how the team managed the site and the build.

One of the nice things about this award is that it honours those who have gone out of their way to be professional, to follow regulations, and to get the job done to the highest standards possible.

If these teams do not get their roles right, the buildings dont happen. We are delighted that the public and private sector in the city have worked so well to create new quality homes and help regenerate an area of the city.

The transformation of Millbay is set to be one of the biggest regeneration projects in the South of England. Estimated to total around 350 million, the scheme will create a new, dynamic waterfront for Plymouth.

As a major initial project in the area, Phoenix Quay has set the benchmark for quality and design. It comprises 123 high quality apartments and townhouses, including 92 homes for sale and 31 affordable homes.

Located near the sea and the city centre, Phoenix Quay is a contemporary development of one and two bedroom apartments from 89,950 and three bedroom homes from 159,950.

Linden Homes has a long established reputation for regenerative and sustainable building developments locally, including Gunwharf in Devonport, which won a CABE Building for Life gold standard and the company is also creating a large regeneration development in the heart of Devonport Evolve.
