AN AWARD-WINNING Devon garden of excellence will provide the backdrop on a television programme to be screened on Friday.

Carol Klein will talk to Head Gardener Malcolm Pharoah at Marwood Hill Gardens near Barnstaple for BBC Gardeners’ World.

Viewers will be able to see what happens on BBC 2 on Friday.

Marwood Hill Gardens were created by the late Dr Jimmy Smart.

The 20 acres of gardens are well known for their extensive collections of plants, shrubs and trees, including Camellias and national collections of Astilbe, Japanese Iris and Tulbaghia, Champion Trees.
