Head over to RHS Garden Rosemoor for an array of winter events

The Winter Garden at RHS Garden Rosemoor in Devon is always a treat and one of the most beautiful sights in all seasons. This year, for the first time, visitors can enjoy the garden as they have never seen it before: illuminated by innovative hi-tech, dynamic colour-changing lighting to provide a magical festive trail around the trees and shrubs, starting on 18 November through to 7 January 2017.

Rosemoor prides itself on being environmentally friendly and the illuminations have been created using a permanent electricity supply, so there will be no noisy, smelly generators and LED lights have also been used for low energy consumption. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the gardens will be open until 8.30pm to maximise the effects of the lighting into the evening hours, and on those days garden entry will be half price after 4pm.The award-winning Garden Kitchen Restaurant will be serving simple family suppers 5.30pm-7.30pm, booking is highly recommended. The Rosemoor Shop & Plant Centre will remain open until 7.30pm, too and will be the place to go for all those Christmas Gift and plant ideas..

At the launch of the illuminations 18 -19 November come and meet ‘Jack Frost’, the beautiful ‘Winter Nymph’, a magical stilt walker and a living statue as they guide visitors to the Winter Garden. See the garden in winter as you have never seen it before. The Rosemoor Shop will be open for Christmas Food Tasting, plus the Garden Kitchen Restaurant will be open for pre-booked suppers 5.30pm-7.30pm, when booking is highly recommended. The launch coincides with the start of the extremely popular annual Winter Sculpture Exhibition and to make this weekend a must in the diary, Rosemoor is also presenting an indoor live theatre production on Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Snow Queen” with two performances on Saturday at 12pm and 3.30pm (3.30pm sold out). This is family Christmas theatre with a difference, and as audiences are limited to 100 seats with one show already sold out, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment (RHS Events Booking line is 0203 176 5830).
