The only wine lounge in the South West celebrates its one year anniversary this month.
Situated in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, Le Vignoble, has gone from strength to strength since opening in August 2012.
Featuring more than 200 wines from all over the globe, the lounge also offers the innovative Enomatic Wine Serving System. This system, thought to be the most advanced of its type, prevents oxidation therefore meaning you always enjoy the true taste of the wine.
Owner and founder Yannick Loué has put the success of Le Vignoble down to the way the wine lounge is continuously evolving. He said: “We’re always looking to give our customers a new experience; each time they visit us we want to be able to offer them something different.”
Le Vignoble has looked to remove the stereotype of a “snobby wine bar” and instead focuses on educating customers through weekly wine clubs and NVQ Level 1 and 2 wine qualifications.
Sample taster glasses of wine can be enjoyed from as little as 60p and Loué has recently looked to stock more wines that cost under £10. Regular events include ‘Meet The Winemaker’ evenings where customers get to interact with celebrated wine makers from across the world.
Cheese, olive and charcuterie platters are also available to act as a perfect compliment to the wine and to accommodate for their growing clientele Le Vignoble also offers a selection of brandies, premium ales, soft drinks and specialty teas.
On the back of recent success, Loué is looking to open a second wine lounge in the South West. He has yet to find a location to match the stunning setting of Royal William Yard but as the founder says himself: “Like any good wine we’re just getting better with age.”
