WINNER: Pipers Farm, Exeter

Pipers Farm is a 50 acre, all grass, family farm, just north of Exeter. It lies in an area of rolling hills and rich red Devon soil. They grow contented animals slowly, in small groups, with minimum stress, which means that we only use medication when it is absolutely necessary. Today the Pipers Farm family embraces 25 family farms, all helping us to produce healthy food that tastes good.

HIGHLY COMMENDED: Aune Valley Meats, Loddiswell

The butchery is the heart & soul of Aune Valley Meat. The butchery business was created some 30 years ago, for the local farmers home use trade. The whole animal is butchered to the customer’s requirement. Today, stock is taken to the local abattoir at Ashburton then returned to the Loddiswell Shop. The carcasses are hung for a minimum of 21 days then broken down in the shop.

HIGHLY COMMENDED: Rusty Pig, Ottery St Mary

The Rusty Pig is a small, family-run business, based in rural Devon. They’re experts in all things pig, running a specialist charcuterie shop in Ottery St Mary and a small supper table where customers can enjoy our artisan produce in truly unique surroundings.
