Mount Kelly’s Upper Sixth pupils have achieved the schools best A Level results in recent time.

Pupils for the fifth year in succession have achieved a 100% pass rate and there was an increase in A*/A grades from last year with the total A* to B result hitting 70%.

Set against a national backdrop of the first decline in the pass rate for 32 years over 72% of pupils at Mount Kelly got into their first choice university.

Notable results included the Head Girl Louisa Butcher who has gained a place at Keble College, Oxford with 1 A* and 2 A’s. Leon Cording achieved 1 A* and 3 A’s to read Chemical Engineering at Leeds, whilst Clementine Boyle will read Law at Exeter after receiving 2 A*’s and 1 A . Mount Kelly’s HMC scholar Ognjen Lukacevic achieved a very impressive 4 A*’s and 1 A * and will read Integrated Engineering at Cardiff.

Head Master Mark Semmence commented “I am delighted with another excellent set of A Level results. The hard work of every pupil is reflected in these grades. All of the pupils and their dedicated teachers can be proud of what they have achieved together.”

“These results are an excellent start to the new Mount Kelly Foundation. We remain committed to providing an all-round education and a full extra-curricular programme of sporting, cultural and creative activities. One only has to look at what the pupils have achieved outside the classroom this year, to see that there is a healthy balance in the education we offer.”

In addition to the successes of A Level students, Mount Kelly GCSE pupils have achieved another fantastic set of results with 91% of pupils achieving grades A* to C and 100% pass rate for the fourth year in succession.
