The Art Café in Kingsbridge is offering you the chance to win one of six of their stunning, new Polish pottery mugs.
The mugs, which are worth 7.95 each, are from The Art Cafs new range of handmade Polish stoneware ceramics, from the Polish town of Boleslawiec.
To mark the introduction of this beautiful new range of ceramics in the shop, the ever creative and innovative co-owners, Georgie Byrom and Clare Fardon, invite you to join them in celebrating Polish Constitution Day on Friday 3rd May. During the day of celebrations at The Art Caf (10am 6pm), you will have the chance to try your hand at painting pottery using traditional Polish tools, enjoy a complimentary taster of delicious Polish food and listen to music from this culturally fascinating country.
To add to this special occasion, Polish pottery expert and the man behind this range of ceramics, Cezary Ostrowski, will be there to talk about the pottery and how it is made. Those who give the painting a go will quickly realise that its not as easy as it looks!
As well as being handmade, it is all unique and individually hand-painted. The pattern on each piece is decorated with a hand stamping technique using shape sponges and stamps. This distinctively styled pottery has been produced in Boleslawiec since the 1830s. It is gaining quite a following here in Britain, as is its vibrant culture on the whole with more and more Polish restaurants opening up across the country and an explosion of Polish creative talent.
This gorgeous Polish Pottery selection includes mugs, cereal bowls, jugs and plates. Prices range from 7.95 for a mug to 24.95 for a large teapot.
