N9 Design has supplied both print and digital marketing graphics to the National Theatre


Plymouth-based design firm N9 Design has been working with London’s National Theatre on it current UK tour of War Horse, based on Michael Morpurgo’s novel.

N9 Design was approached on recommendation to supply marketing graphics both in print and digital environments.

Nick Warren, Design Director of N9, says: “We’ve been providing graphics for theatre productions and entertainment venues for many years; but to support an organisation like the National Theatre on two very well received shows, is a recognition of the high quality design we can produce here in the South West UK. It’s also a nicely varied brief. To date, we’ve worked with the National Theatre’s marketing team to supply work all over the UK, in Chinese, Welsh, on buses, online, on TV screens, at point of sale, at billboard size and in traditional newspaper adverts.”

The National Theatre recently marked its 50th year in London with a star-studded showcase of stage productions including Nick Stafford’s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s book, which received its world premiere at the National Theatre in October 2007, and has since been seen by over four million people worldwide. War Horse is currently celebrating its sixth year on the London stage and is one of many other high profile productions that N9 has supported.

N9 Design’s relationship with the National Theatre is ongoing with work already completed for the award-winning comedy ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ — another show that has passed through Plymouth — as it embarks on its biggest-ever tour of the UK and Ireland in May 2014.

Warren adds: “Our support to the National Theatre is clear proof that location is not a barrier to business here in the South West.”
