We have lots of delicious vegetarian eateries in Devon: everything from cleansing juices and breakfasts to three course meals…

100% vegetarian

1. Willow Vegetarian Restaurant, Totnes

After a day of shopping in Totnes, why not drop by Willow Vegetarian Restaurant? With a quaint garden out back where you can soak in the sun in the summer with a delicious plate of organic food or sit inside this chic eatery with a vegetarian curry on those colder days.

2. Herbies, Exeter

Herbies is a family-run restaurant that has been on the city’s streets for over 20 years now. They have a menu brimming with tasty vegetarian meals with flavours from around the world. Start with the kale and apple soup and then dig into the spicy vegetable satay with rice and potato wedges. Pop in for a catch-up with friends from Monday to Saturday.

Good vegetarian options

3. Green Leaf Café, Torquay

Torquay is home to the Green Leaf Café, an independent, family-run eatery. In the colder weather cosy up to the wood burner while enjoying a hearty vegetarian breakfast with Linda McCartney sausages and a warming cuppa! Perhaps you fancy a lunch break with friends, if so why not try the healthy falafel salad?

4. The Curious Kitchen, Brixham

Start off your day with a wholesome brunch, possibly the smashed avocado, toasted sourdough, lime, chilli jam and coriander alongside a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Perhaps your interest is piqued by the selection of ‘freakshakes’. Try the peanut butter ice cream sandwich, salted caramel and chocolate soil – yum! The kitchen is run by two vegetarian chefs who wanted to create a menu with more than just a few delectable vegetarian options.

5. TJ’s Restaurant, Paignton

Pick and mix at TJ’s Restaurant in Paignton with the tapas dishes, all to be enjoyed while sitting on the terrace overlooking the picturesque harbour. Try the honey roasted figs, beetroot, melted brie and chopped nuts or the deep fried goat’s cheese with honey and orange garnish for a tasty meal on the coast – and don’t forget a glass of sangria!

6. Supha’s, Plymouth

While visiting Plymouth, take a walk along the Sutton Harbour and drop by Supha’s. As you walk inside, you’ll be welcomed by a room bursting with colour and a relaxed atmosphere. See your food being cooked in the open kitchen where you’ll be enticed by the strong smell of delicious Asian cuisine; why not try the stir-fried cucumber with egg, garlic and black pepper or the pad pak choi, a dish with stir fried pad pak choi in garlic, black pepper, chilli and oyster sauce.

7. The Pier House, Westward Ho!

The Pier House is the perfect place for a delicious vegetarian meal overlooking the cliffs on the north coast of Devon. For starters, why not tuck into the smoked beetroot carpaccio and then go onto the baked spinach and feta tart, finally treat yourself to the sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

8. Morans, Westward Ho!

While in north Devon visit Morans, Westward Ho!’s family-run Thai restaurant open Monday to Saturday. Try the Pad Tofu Khing Pak with mixed vegetables and tofu stir fried with ginger or perhaps try something a bit hotter, such as the Pad Grapaw Pak with mixed vegetables and tofu with garlic and chilli. Bring friends along and wind down while enjoying some of Morans’ raved about cocktails!
