Join the Devon Life Treasure Hunt

** THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED **
Our treasure is a gorgeous pendant generously supplied by jeweller Michael Spiers. It consists of a pear-cut pink sapphire weighing 1.75 carats set in 18-carat white gold and surmounted by a trefoil of diamonds, and carried on an 18-carat white gold chain. It’s worth £1000 - and you have the chance to win it – if you can solve the clues.
Each month for three months, arch cryptographer Brian Highley will be setting you a couple of teasers that will lead you to a specific location in Devon. To hunt down the treasure, collect the clues month by month, and the best detectives should be able to find the secret location. The first person who cracks all the clues and identifies the location will win the treasure!
The first correct answer received after 1st February via the online entry form was from Janice Papworth of Colaton Raleigh
With grateful thanks to Michael Spiers for their most generous contribution

Q: Where was the mystery location?
A: Many people correctly narrowed down the location to Budleigh Salterton, but if you’d correctly interpreted the clues, and found the anagram hidden within the words in red, the precise place indicated was the Raleigh Wall.
