Two new walks books along the South West Coast Path National Trail are now available as part of a series of walking guides by Coastal Publishing.

Walks along the South West Coast Path Exmouth to Dartmouth featuring the English Riviera Global Geopark and Walks along the South West Coast Path Dartmouth to Plymouth, each feature spectacular walks along this magnificent coastline. They follow on from two walks books covering the length of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and will continue along the entire length of the South West Coast Path between Poole and Minehead.

Each book is published in the form of a beautifully illustrated 64-page full colour guide with fantastic aerial photography to map each route. They provide an essential guide to exploring the local area on foot and include full route descriptions along with highlights of some fascinating features to look out for along the way. All walks take up to half a day or less to complete and most are circular with suggestions about where to stop for a pub lunch or a true Devonshire cream tea.

Written by Ruth Luckhurst and Melanie Border, Ruth says,

My passion is for exploring, for unlocking the secrets of Britain's hidden places, and I have acquired a certain reputation for finding inspiration in the unlikeliest of settings. The South West Coast Path, however, requires no effort of imagination: every mile of it yields some fascinating feature, be it an awe-inspiring cliff-face or a rare and delicate orchid.

I hope that as I share the splendid banquet that is the Coast Path, other walkers will be moved to feast on its delights and come away with a desire for more.

Melanie Border, Co-ordinator of the Riviera Geopark said:
"We are really excited to see these books in print which provide a different aspect to both walking the coast and the Global Geopark. It has been really good working in partnership with Coastal Publishing and the South West Coast Path Team and we would like to thank all those involved in creating such great books. In particular we would like to thank all those who donated some stunningly beautiful photographs. A very important part of the Geoparks work is to engage with the local community and visitors alike and show what the Geopark has to offer and these books will, undoubtedly, inspire people to get out and about."

The spectacular scenery along the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path is enjoyed by thousands of walkers every year, each location has a story to tell about the processes that have shaped it. These books will help you learn as you walk, gaining knowledge that can only enhance your enjoyment. By purchasing these books you will support the English Riviera Global Geopark and the South West Coast Path and contribute to their conservation for future generations.

The books are available from bookshops, Tourist Information Centres and Visitor Centres along the coast from Exmouth to Plymouth. They can also be ordered from online websites, including the South West Coast Path Associations online shop at www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk
