Over the summer months Seaton’s Town Development Team is launching another series of cultural events

Art@JubileeArt@Jubilee

Art@Jubilee is for anyone who likes art and will take place on Sundays 26th July, 16th & 30th August and 13th September from 12 noon to 3pm.

The outdoor art exhibition, held in the prominent and beautiful setting of Jubilee Gardens overlooking the sea will showcase the work of local talented artists from Devon, Dorset and Somerset. There will be chance to view the art, purchase pieces as well as enjoy the atmosphere.

The plan for Art@Jubilee came from the Town Development Team’s cultural sub-group and is being coordinated by local artists John Buckley and Rich Webster, who will both be exhibiting on Sunday July 26th. Also present will be Seaton’s Jurassic Art (the Bradshaws) and Annabel Glassby who recently captured local butcher R W Norman on canvass with her painting which is now hanging in Ron’s butchers in Fore Street.

There’s plenty for kids to do as well with a free family chalk painting contest. Categories include under 8 Years, or 8 to 15 years and will be judged at the end of the day with the chance to win prizes donated from Owl & Pyramid bookshop, t-shirts and more

Pitches are available for artists wanting to exhibit, contact arts@seatondevon.org for details

Karin Frewin, marketing & events specialist and Town Development Team coordinator commented “We are really pleased to be bringing Art@Jubilee to Seaton. If the reception we had at the recent Natural Seaton Festival is anything to go by we are expecting it to be a really good event and hope it will bring visitors into Seaton on Sundays. We’d like to thank our TDT members John Buckley, Rich Webster and Anne Moss for their hard work with helping to coordinate it.”

If the weather is bad the first event will take place inside the Town Hall in the ‘Gateway.’
