The weekend is fast approaching and for those still deciding how to spend their Friday through to Sunday, we pick 5 of the best ways to spend your weekend in Devon

Gin Festival at Boringdon Hall – May 27

Last year’s festival held stands from top local gin producers like Salcombe Gin and Plymouth Gin as well as gins from around the country and even further afield. To go with your gins there will be lots of amazing food to try like traditional paella, Devonshire burgers, hot dogs and vegetarian dishes.

The event runs from 2pm until late and tickets are £10 and this includes a Boringdon gin and tonic.

Bridgerule Beer Festival at Glebe House Cottages – May 26 – 27

This family-friendly beer festival has over 10 real ales for the adults to enjoy while the kids will love the bouncy castles and variety of other entertainment. On the Saturday there will be a hog roast running while on the Sunday authentic pizzas will be available.

Adult tickets are £4 and child tickets are £2.50. All beers are £3!

Brick Built Lego Models Exhibition at Torquay Museum – May 25 – September 8

Fans of this incredibly popular toy building block from Denmark will love an exhibition that brings the spirit of Legoland to the Devon coast. Lego artist Warren Elsmore has created models of architecture seen in many of the world’s biggest cities, an enormous eight-metre airport and you can even experience a virtual reality walkthrough of a Lego-themed house.

Standard museum entry prices will apply.

Prawle Fair at The Green, East Prawle, Kingsbridge – May 27

This annual event and the result of a huge community effort by the residents of Devon’s most southerly village to raise funds for local groups and charities including First Responders and Coast Watch. This traditional fair will have swing boats, a greasy pole, a knobbly knees contest and a children’s fancy dress parade as well as numerous food stalls and live music.

The event starts at 2pm and tickets will need to purchased for the after show at the Pigs Nose Inn.

BrixFest 2018 – May 26 – 30

For the last 12 months organisers of this diverse festival have been working tirelessly to deliver a selection of events guaranteed to engage and delight visitors of all ages. The festival includes a grand firework display on the Saturday, a DragonBoat challenge on Sunday and children’s day on Monday as well as lots of other assorted activities.
