The staff and residents at Fremington Manor care home, Barnstaple, are opening up their extensive gardens to the local community for a ‘Party at the Manor’ this Sunday (25 August).
There is a whole afternoon of entertainment for all the family, from live music to bouncy castles. Local acts include acoustic singer-songwriter, Small Town Jones; Kate Bush tribute band, Cloudbusting; Gaelic folk music band, the Oggle Band; Lucy and the Moons and 14-year-old TeenStar finalist, Yazzy Chamberlain.
There is plenty to keep children amused too, including children’s entertainer Captain Coconut and magician Dave Henry. A number of activities will also be on offer such as face painting, a coconut sky, hook a duck, ferret racing, a football skills game and teddy tombola.
Corinne Topps, Home Matron at Care South’s Fremington Manor, said: “The Party at the Manor is a real highlight of the year for staff and residents and for the wider Fremington community. This year we’ve got a huge variety of entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy.”
“The money we raise will go to a number of local community groups, including the Fremington Manor Residents’ Amenity Fund, which enables us to run activities for our residents. We hope to see as many people as possible supporting these fantastic causes!”
Refreshments are on offer in the form of a BBQ, cream teas and a licensed bar.
