A Cornish businesswoman is doing her bit to eradicate breast cancer after tragically losing her mother to the disease. Becci Cornelius of Anns Cottage Surf Shops is using premium retail space to stock Keep A Breasts I Love Boobies range.

I lost my mum in my late 20s, I had only just become a mother myself said Becci. The whole experience of my mum being diagnosed to losing her battle to the disease was extremely painful.

A few months later, Becci was invited to a surf event in the south of France and noticed the I Love Boobies range while browsing around the pop-up stores on site. The bright colours and cheeky message caught my eye straight away and I immediately felt a connection towards it.

Proceeds from I Love Boobies go towards raising awareness for breast cancer as well as supporting young people affected by the disease. The brand is really in-tune with the younger generation, you see them at music festivals, surf competitions and art events.

At the time of her mums passing, Becci felt unable to connect with support and symbols of the charities available. I couldnt relate to the traditional breast cancer services that were out there at the time.

Becci saw the range again a year later in a surf shop in America and started the process of stocking the brand at Anns Cottage. My son Ben asked if he could have a I Love Boobies bracelet and I remember thinking; this is a brand which is really capturing the next generations attention...I knew it was right for Anns Cottage.

The Keep A Breast organisation educates and advises particularly young people about breast cancer.

The disease doesnt just affect a certain age group and thats what I love about I Love Boobies...it makes a taboo subject easier to talk about for everyone involved.

Beccis sons both wear the I Love Boobies bracelets which are proving a bestseller. In what other way would a 8 and 11 year old engage with a breast cancer charity...most target an older audience. A young boy who has lost his mum, grandma or sister can relate to this brand.

The range has been available since February, and is on offer in all stores and online. Beccis father; Owner Rob Harris is proud to be involved in the battle against the disease which is very close the familys heart. We know first hand how devastating this disease can be, thats why we want to do all we can to spread the word about prevention.

The Keep A Breast website http://eu.keep-a-breast.org/ offers a huge resource including information and practical advice on breast cancer prevention, diet/ nutrition, facts and self-checking advice. Keep A Breast connects Music, Sport and Art to get the attention of young people.
