Full-Circle Farming

Only 15% of the red meat produced on Dartmoor is consumed within a 30-mile radius of the moor. One Widecombe business, prompted by the Government’s call for farmers to diversify, has developed a cooperative approach with neighbouring farmers aimed at cutting down food miles. Their meat, which is fully traceable, comes from animals matured slowly on moorland pastures, and that is quite evident from the taste.
