It’s not too late to book your 2014 break in South Devon

With miles of stunning coastline, beautiful award-winning beaches, unspoilt towns and villages and fabulous pubs and restaurants, it is easy to understand why so many choose the southernmost tip of Devon as the destination for a summer holiday or short break.

Every year thousands of visitors flock to this special corner of Devon, the South Hams, which includes the picturesque sailing resort of Salcombe, the historic naval port of Dartmouth and the quaint town of Totnes. With a high percentage of visitors choosing to return to the area every year, a large number of properties are booked up months in advance, particularly in the most sought after locations.

Luckily for those wishing to discover this beautiful area for themselves, it is not too late to snap up a perfect property for 2014, or even for the peak weeks...yet! Whilst locally based agency, Coast & Country Cottages are reporting that bookings to date have come in faster and in larger number than this time last year, new properties are regularly being added and can often offer the later enquirer the ideal holiday solution, even at the last minute.

Director Andrew Jones says: “We are actively looking for more luxury properties in Salcombe, Dartmouth and throughout the South Hams to satisfy record demand for holiday enquiries this year. Recent weeks have seen the addition of several new properties to our portfolio, including a stylish barn conversion, Higher Hill Barn in Sherford near Kingsbridge, rated 5-star gold by Visit England and luxury 5-star awarded waterside apartment, 10 Dart Marina, which boasts stunning views across the River Dart in picturesque Dartmouth.

“If you are looking for something really special in Salcombe, perhaps for an extended family get-together, a notable birthday or anniversary party or a summer break with the wow factor, we are delighted to announce the brand new availability of Oversteps House, awarded 5 star gold by Visit England.”

This stunning new property offers stylish, luxury accommodation to sleep up to 16 in the most incredible location overlooking the glorious sandy beach at South Sands, Salcombe. With eight beautifully furnished bedrooms and seven contemporary bathrooms in total, this spacious property is the perfect place for large family gatherings, for two or three families looking to share one property or for up to seven couples. The flexible accommodation can also be offered as two separate apartments sleeping up to eight each.

With wonderful views over the beach and out to sea, Oversteps House is just 100 metres or so from beautiful, unspoilt Blue Flag awarded beach, South Sands and the Beachside Restaurant, the ideal location for enjoying expertly cooked local seafood.

Experience sea kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, take the little South Sands ferry into picturesque Salcombe or spend the day making sandcastles with the kids! Or take a leisurely stroll into Salcombe via North Sands, stopping for refreshments en route at The Winking Prawn.

"This spacious property is the perfect place for large family gatherings "

After all this activity, relax at the very special private beach house and enjoy the amazing views from the raised seating area over a glass of something chilled from the beer fridge - the perfect spot to watch the boats go by at Salcombe Regatta in August.

Oversteps House is available for weekly stays from £2,450-£6,250 sleeping up to 16, with special rates available for short breaks and smaller parties.
