Attention detail is what leisure property developer Betty Williams believes makes The Arboretum in the South Hams so special.
The Mansion House show apartment doors have opened for business at The Arboretum. Betty Williams, the resident proprietor, is carefully watching as the transformation of the Victorian Mansion House at Higher Blagdon develops.
First, the new roofing timbers were installed, then the new roof built and finally the scaffolding removed to reveal the new build Mansion House exterior in all its glory.
The Mansion House will provide nine contemporary apartments, available for occupation from March 2014. Each holiday apartment is individually designed with differing features, but all reflect the design quality of the original Mansion House.
Betty Williams, the experienced leisure property developer driving the development of The Arboretum, believes in hands on management.
Not only does Betty live on the site, she and her partner are personally involved with each aspect of the design, build and management.
The construction is led by project manager Neil Fraser, the architect is Exeter based David Burley, the interior designer is award winning, Alexander James, and furnishings are by Becky Powell, whose clients include actor John Nettles.
Their work can all be viewed at the Mansion House Show Apartment.
The apartments can be reserved off plan, and all apartments are available to view with Betty or one of her team. Most of the apartments have sea views of Torbay and one apartment enjoys the fully restored Mansion House turret converted into a roof garden. The theme for The Arboretum is to combine the best of the old with the best of the new. Original Mansion House features such as the mullioned windows, original beams and the glorious rich red of the local Devon stone are sympathetically incorporated with the contemporary light and airy interiors, and the modern sound and heat insulation.
The security of The Arboretums natural location has really appealed to Betty and the invitation to potential purchasers is to share in its peace, privacy and safety. Its private location, tucked away in its own woodland setting between the English Riviera coastline and the expanse of Dartmoor, is endorsed with the high specification gated entrance, apartment soundproofing and video security entrance systems.
Betty Williams is delighted that her vision to provide fully serviced, luxury holiday homes in the Torquay area is being realised. Her personal satisfaction in the opportunities that the 12m investment will yield for the economy and the tourism of the region is apparent.
She says It is really good to see the vision of The Arboretum being realised through the opening of The Mansion House Show Apartment. We are delighted that interest from potential purchasers has already been shown.
Our attention to detail is really beginning to pay off. I look forward to welcoming more guests to this very special holiday hideaway.
