Hands-on workshops, fascinating cookery demonstrations, topical Eat Your Words sessions and enlightening wine seminars...whatever your age there’s something to be learned by all at this year’s Dartmouth Food Festival, from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October.

With more than 100 producers showcasing their wonderful artisan products including Tideford Organics, South Devon Chilli Farm, Riverford, The Dartmouth Ice Cream Company, Sharpham Wine & Cheese, Mark Lobb Fish & Game, Shaldon Bakery and Luscombe Organic Drinks, there’s a fantastic opportunity to sample, buy and talk to an array of passionate producers. In recent years the festival has gained a reputation for attracting some of the region’s best chefs.

With free cookery demonstrations on throughout all three days, crowds are sure to be impressed with the flair and talent of the celebrity chefs whilst gathering some invaluable top tips. Mitch Tonks, Mark Hix, Tom Parker Bowles and Nathan Outlaw are just some of those attending. Back by popular demand, Susy Atkins will once again be leading the festival’s fantastic drinks programme.

Famed for her appearances on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen as a regular wine expert, Susy will be joined by an outstanding line up of prominent drinks experts. Whilst the series of Eat Your Words talks and discussions, now in its second year has attracted both nationally renowned and international speakers and is championed by writer and TV presenter, Lucy Siegle, a regular contributor to The Guardian and the BBC’s One Show.

Devon Life is delighted to have teamed up with Dartmouth Food Festival to offer two lucky readers the chance to win a VIP day for two at this fabulous foodie extravaganza on Friday 24 October. The day will start with a delicious champagne breakfast at renowned Café Alf Resco, famed for its vibrant atmosphere and array of fresh food and drink ( The lucky winners will receive two VIP passes each allowing unlimited entry to the Eat Your Words discussions and also the highly anticipated wine seminars. In addition they can enter the Favis of Salcombe VIP area, where they’ll be able to mingle with high profile chefs including Mitch Tonks and with wine experts Susy Atkins and Fiona Beckett.
