North Devon has a new beachside dining venue - the Beachside Grill at Saunton Sands

Stunning Saunton Sands beach now has a new dining experience with the launch of the Beachside Grill.

Boasting a huge new smoker and grill and a surfy, seaside vibe, the Beachside Grill is right on the popular North Devon beach and has been a major project for the team at the Saunton Sands Hotel, which leases the building.

Pete Brend, from the Saunton Sands Hotel, says: “It’s been a long time in development but it’s been worth the wait, as finally the stunning views and beautiful natural environment have been matched by a dining offer that’s just as special.”

It’s a dining offer that takes customers on a trip around the globe, with an emphasis on Americana and the Deep South. That’s where those grills come in, doing justice to T-bone and ribeye steaks (choose your sauces and marinades), the BSG burger (which comes with maple cheddar, smoked bacon and brioche) or half a Lundy lobster (or a whole if you really want to push the boat out).

It’s not just about dinner either, as the restaurant is open from breakfast for Surfer’s Hash, Bircher muesli or waffles with maple syrup and bacon, through lunch - open grilled sarnies, bowls of barbecue-smoked Jacob’s ladder ribs and seared home-smoked beef with leaves, blue cheese and smoked bacon.

Children have their own fun menus with colouring to keep little ones happy and you can even take your dog as long as you sit out on the sun terrace, which is one of the very best spots in summer.

The refurb is a major one with the design done by the Saunton team, while new branding and menus have been created by North Devon marketing agency, Salt Media.
