LEADING SOUTH WEST FOOD AND DRINK CELEBRATION LAUNCHED

The good and the great of the South West's food and drink scene gathered yesterday at Exeter's new boutique Southernhay House Hotel to mark the launch of the 10th Celebration of Food Festival.

Heralding a month of celebrations with more than 200 events taking place across the South West, Celebration of Food is now one of the UKs largest festivals of its kind.
Throughout October the regions leading restaurants, cafes, festivals, farm shops and producers are offering customers a serious dose of culinary indulgence, from tasting menus using local produce to family friendly food-themed events to celeb chef demos and food shows.
Toasting its 10th edition will be a host of well known faces including wine expert Susy Atkins, while Nathan Outlaw is treating lucky foodies to an evening Masterclass with Mark Hix.
Further afield, events include the Dartmouth and North Devon Food Festivals, a Masterclass in cooking game with Gerald David at Darts Farm, a Fitness and Flavour retreat by the Devilled Egg Kitchen Academy, a wine dinner at Hotel du Vin in Bristol and a series of special Totally Cornish lunches at Fifteen Cornwall.
A selection of leading businesses are also putting their name behind the event including Darts Farm, Michelmores Solicitors, The Devilled Egg Kitchen Academy and Ethical Addictions coffee.
Jo Rees, of Barnstaple based organisers Salt Media said: This years Celebration looks to be a winner with tonnes of fabulous events for foodies to take part in during October. Im especially looking forward to the North Devon Foodfest which is one of the largest events during this years Celebration of Food, and with so much going on across the South West its a great opportunity for those within the region and those visiting to enjoy a gourmet getaway.
The Celebrations Eat Out for 10 dining promotion is another winner, enabling food lovers the chance to experience the finest of the regions cookery and hospitality without hitting the wallet too hard.
