Come and join Devon Life and Mitch Tonks for a great reader event, an evening out at the acclaimed Seahorse restaurant on the Embankment at Dartmouth. Go on treat yourselves. Famous Times critic Giles Coren visited recently and called it the best meal hed had all year! The Seahorse at Dartmouth is a true haven of good food, good conversation and good fun.


Mitch Tonks is a highly acclaimed chef, restaurateur and fishmonger, whose name is synonymous with all that is great about British seafood. His infectiousness, enthusiasm and knowledge of all aspects of the fishing industry, from sea to plate, has won him many awards including Seafood Restaurant of the Year, Restaurateur of the Year, Best Fishmonger, and Best Fish Book, in the World Gourmand Awards. This fresh fish aficionado lives by the sea in Brixham, and can be seen most mornings at the market buying seafood for his restaurants, The Rock Fish Grill in Bristol and The Seahorse in Dartmouth. Mitchs straightforward approach to cooking stems from his belief that the fish is the star of the show; a philosophy that has won him many fans and is reflected in his books, TV shows and cookery schools.

The laid-back and personable Mitch will be hosting a fun and fabulous night at the Seahorse, alongside Devon Lifes Managing Editor, Anita Newcombe, and Editor Jane Fitzgerald. To introduce the evening and the menu there will be an informal talk about the super-fresh and delicious local food that is Mitchs passion. The cost will be 30 per head, which will include a three-course menu specially prepared from the days catch, plus a welcome glass of Prosecco on arrival. This special one-off event for Devon Life readers is on Wednesday 12 May at 7pm.
