The Dartington Hall Trust is collaborating with Taste of the West to launch a new, large-scale Food Fair at its south Devon shopping village between 28th and 30th May.

Taking place at The Shops at Dartington, formerly known at the Cider Press Centre, on the edge of the Dartington estate near Totnes, the three-day celebration of locally produced, outstanding food and drink is also supported by Food and Drink Devon and Visit South Devon.

The Fair features 45 stalls offering the finest local produce, cooking demonstrations by local chefs in the al fresco kitchen, food tastings, competitions and three different restaurants. There will also be live music and entertainment and a host of family activities on offer, including a have-a-go potters wheel, picnic areas, face painting, a petting zoo, portrait painting even mountain biking and abseiling sessions.

Riverford Organics award-winning celebrity chef Jane Baxter heads up the line-up of local chefs. Jane, who is the head chef at Riverford Organic Field Kitchen, is known for her imaginative approach to cooking locally sourced and seasonal food. Other chefs starring in the outdoor demonstration kitchen include Matt Cook from Fish Face, Richard Hunt from Torquays Grand Hotel and Ed Chester from Otterton Mill. Also conformed are the flamboyant Reah brothers, restaurateurs with a passion for fish, and Jean Philippe-Bidart, chef from the Millbrook Inn and recent winner of this years gastro pub of the year. Ashburton Cookery School will be demonstrating why they have such a track record of success. All will be performing mouth-watering cooking demonstrations.

Tickets for the Food Fair cost 4 per day and can be purchased online at www.dartington.org/foodfair. On-site parking is included in the ticket price and children under 12 go free, making the event a great value family day out.
