Following the appointment of Bill Gee as Artistic Director for The Dartington Hall Trust, Dartington Arts has now appointed an Executive Producer, Kate Farmery, who will start at the end of July 2014. Their two roles of Artistic Director and Executive Producer are to replace the single role of Director of Arts.

Kate Farmery has eighteen years’ experience as an arts producer within the cultural sector, most recently as Head of Operations for Manchester City Galleries. There, she worked with a diverse range of artists and creative practitioners to deliver an internationally renowned artistic programme, including a city-wide season of West African art and music for the Cultural Olympiad and collaborations with the Manchester International Festival.

Under her leadership, annual attendances have grown from 130,000 to over 500,000 and earned income has increased by 30 per cent. Kate was brought up in the South West and is delighted to be returning, saying: ‘I am thrilled to be joining Dartington’s arts team at such an exciting time. I will be working closely with Artistic Director Bill Gee to shape and implement a new artistic vision which builds on Dartington’s rich history and strengthens the team’s contribution to developing creative and resilient communities. I can’t wait to get started.’
